Out alone into the fickle Atlantic
Fleet sets sail on the Artemis Transat
STOP PRESS: Justice Cahn of the New York Supreme Court has ordered that the 33rd America's Cup be held 10 months from today... Read the fuller account.

Despite a windless forecast, the Artemis Transat got away from Plymouth successfully yesterday in front of a giant spectator fleet. See our photos and video from the start. Prior to the start we spoke to Dee Caffari about the new Aviva IMOCA 60 and her first race in it. A familiar face returns to the Ericsson Ocean Racing team for the next Volvo.
It's official - the Tornado and Women's skiff will not feature in the 2012 Games - send us your thoughts about this here. Wow. Ben Ainslie won his fourth consecutive Finn European title - but it was hard going with the Brit at one point looking like he might not make the medal races. We look at the paralympic skiff - the Skud 18.

To subscribe to thedailysail costs just £24.99 for a year. Special offers include a FREE 10 day trial.
